About the Clarification Documents

Welcome to the Mathematics Grade Level Content Expectations Clarification Documents, provided by the Michigan Council of Teachers of Mathematics in partnership with the Michigan Department of Education. Clarification documents expand upon the Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations with a clarification of the GLCE, a discussion of the underlying mathematical concept, instructional and assessment samples, and additional research and resources. This website provides access to these documents, grade level vocabulary lists, and more information and resources.

The following GLCEs are up and running:

All of Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade

3rd grade: M.UN.03.01, M.UN.03.05, M.TE.03.09, M.PS.03.10, G.GS.03.01, G.GS.03.04, and D.RE.03.01

4th grade GEOMETRY and DATA and 4th grade MEASUREMENT except M.TE.04.10 and M.PS.04.11

5th grade GEOMETRY and DATA

All of 6th grade except N.MR.06.01 and N.FL.06.02

All of 7th grade except D.RE.07.01

8th grade DATA, GEOMETRY, and the 2nd half of 8th grade NUMBER
